The most famous and oldest cheese factory in La Spezia province, Caseificio Brugnato produces and distributes the best mozzarella, yogurt and ricotta cheese plus many other types of dairy products. The dairy farm was opened in 1956 by Erasmo Esposito and now his family still keeps the tradition alive.
You can find it every Tuesday in the Vernazza street market or you can visit their farm in Brugnato, a tiny ancient village of the Vara Valley, the countryside behind the Cinque Terre.
